Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée in Heat Wave Review, Photo and Swatches

Like clockwork every spring, EL releases a Bronze Goddess collection, and ever since the introduction of the powder gelée formula a few years ago, the Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée has been a highly sought after product. This year's LE Illuminating Powder Gelée in Heat Wave is no exception ($45.00 CA/$40.00 US). All photos taken in natural light, swatches on NC 40 skin.

The formula is outstanding - finely milled, silky but not powdery, the product applies much like the previous EL versions, but also like other similar highlighters such as Guerlain's Cruel Gardenia and MAC's Extra Dimension highlighters. The colour is a gorgeous, a universally flattering beige gold which is gold enough to highlight a nice tan or warm up the skin, but not so gold it will appear sallow or unnatural on cooler skins.

Swatched with finger (L), buffed out with brush (R)

I would highly recommend this gorgeous highlighter. It is long wearing and you only need to buff on the tiniest amount to get a healthy, sexy sheen. As well, it looks great on it's own or over other blushes. Quantities of this product are highly limited and already sold out online, but still available on counters. I would run not walk if this interests you!
